No need for fancy computer graphics here. So much so that the film works perfectly: animation, voices and story all mesh together perfectly to make one of his best films, precisely because it.is. As with all the other voice actors chosen for this film, Walt Disney made perfect choices. I don't think he was chosen for that role because of how 'black' he sounded, but rather for his musical abilities, and how that fit into the character of King Louie. If you follow this helpful link right here at imdb ( ), you'd find that Louis Prima is in fact white, and was quite well known at the time for his musical repertoire, of which the song 'I Wanna Be Like You' is a prime example. It may interest readers of these reviews that the voice actor who played King Louie is not in fact black. This makes Kaa the first and only character voiced by to be a villain (not counting the antihero Cheshire Cat in (1951)). Felt that the audience would not accept the idea of a snake as anything but a villain. In the film, Kaa is a villain bent on eating Mowgli. Unlike the other characters, Mowgli is immune to the mesmerizing 'hunger dance' of Kaa. In the book, although his intentions are suspect, he helps rescue Mowgli from the monkeys. TriviaKaa the snake is a somewhat different character in the film than he is in the original book. It's the sight of a pretty girl however that gets Mowgli to go to the nearby man-village and stay there. When Baloo finally comes around, Mowgli runs off into the jungle where he survives a second encounter with Kaa the snake and finally, with Shere Khan. Bagheera realizes that Mowgli is in danger, particularly from Shere Khan the tiger who hates all people. Baloo the bear however thinks differently, taking the young Mowgli under his wing and teaching him that living in the jungle is the best life there is.
